The Winterwell affix, registered in 1990, is owned by Mrs Lesley Trow. Having owned dogs for most of her life, she came across GSP's whilst out with her Springer. She spotted two handsome looking dogs in the back of a truck, and from that day on became hooked. After Lesley, and her husband David, did some research they were put in touch with David Layton, who, in turn put them in contact with a breeder of a litter. From this they came home with Redclay Ridge at Winterwell (Sage). This changed their way of life forever. Lesley's first litter of GSP's was in 1988. She mated Sage to Sh Ch Inchmarlo Felix, which produced Winterwell Silver Spangler. 'Spangler' only had the one litter, when mated to Sh Ch Midlander Sesterius of Vaternish. This mating produced Winterwell Monet's Magic and Winterwell First Impression. Winterwell Monet's Magic was the winner of a Novice Field Trial at 18 months of age, has been placed in All Age Trials and has won Working Test Awards and been graded at Spring Pointing Tests. Winterwell First Impression is a RCC winner. When First Impression was mated to Ch Barleyarch Playboy, they produced a consistent winner at Champ shows, Winterwell the Fifer, who has 4 RCC's to his name.
First Impression was also
mated to Sh Ch Inchmarlo Giereann, and produced Winterwell Demask, winner of
a RCC, although only lightly shown. Winterwell Monet's Magic has proved a fantastic brood bitch for Winterwell. Her first litter, by Barleyarch Whodunit at Winterwell, produced the first of Lesley's Champion bitches, Ch Winterwell Hety Wainthrope JW. When mated to Sh Ch Jennaline Storm A'Blowin at Karitagan, she produced Sh Ch Winterwell Wild Teasel. The mating also produced Winterwell Ragged Robin, who has 3 RCC's and Winterwell Wood Sorrell who is another Championship Show Winner. Hety has also produced from her first litter of only two puppies a winning youngster, shown by Lesley, but owned by Mr Fisher. Winterwell Irish Velvet JW has already won 2 CC's and a 3 RCC, and also Winterwell Montalimar, winner of working tests and many first at championship shows. He has also been graded at Spring Pointing.
